Free Dialect Coaching

I have a Master's degree in Linguistics from Stanford University and would like to use my education and language talent to transition into dialect coaching.

Could you make use of my talent during this window where I must offer my services for free? You can benefit from a dialect if one of the following describes you:

1. Are you an actor learning to pronounce a convincing 'accent' ?

Do you need to sound like a Cockney to audition for Eliza Doolitle or a Russian to make a convincing Tevye?

Many well paid professionals (according to my husband that works at Intel) need a little boost with their English pronunciation skills. If you are like this you may know English very well you just need some coaching on how they pronounce the things that differ in English from your native tongue. This is not a value or intellect judgment--it is just a matter of practical fact. You may have sudied English in its written form since you were a child. In fact you might know how to read and write English as well as I do. But unless you have had experience speaking with a native speaker and not just a trained English teacher, you might not end up SOUNDING like a native speaker of English.

Normally that process is very time consuming. It took me 20 years perhaps to sound like a fluent English speaker, but I can help you fast forward years through that process.

The good news for both of us is that in the days of audio and video files, we don't need to both be in NYC or LA to make dialect coaching work.
